Your partial effectively restores the appearance and full function of several lost teeth. Including it as part of your oral hygiene regimen, will help insure that it will serve you for a long time to come.

Denture adhesive is a popular and effective way to secure your partial in place while helping to block out food particles. If a few food particles do manage to get between your partial and your gums, you should rinse them and any residual adhesive away. Then you can apply more denture adhesive to a clean surface.

When you take your partial out each night you should rinse away all residual denture adhesive. This will give you a smooth surface to re-apply the denture adhesive the next day. You can then brush the unit with a soft bristled toothbrush and denture polish or a nonabrasive toothpaste. Then soak the partial overnight in water and keep it in a safe place.

You can then brush and floss your teeth, per your regular oral hygiene regimen. It is especially important to floss around the gum line of the teeth surrounding the partial.
